The Story of Cervo & Associates
In 2006, Jec experienced the profound loss of her father, and in 2023, she faced the heartbreak of losing her mother. To honour their memory and the legacy they left behind, she named her migration consultancy firm after them—Cervo & Associates Migration Consulting Services.
Thus began a story rooted in love, resilience, and purpose. The firm, inspired by personal experience and driven by a deep understanding of the migrant journey, stands as a tribute to the enduring spirit of Jec’s parents and to the countless migrants the firm is committed to supporting. Clients are warmly invited to be part of this transformative journey.
Born and raised in the Philippines, Jec embarked on a life-altering journey to Australia in 2014. Motivated by the desire to secure a better future for her family, she left behind a decade-long career as a Human Resources practitioner in a global pharmaceutical company. Despite her dedication, she found that her income no longer met her family’s growing needs—prompting her to seek opportunities abroad.
After considering her options, Jec was welcomed by Australia. A registered training organisation offered her a place in a training program, marking the beginning of her Australian adventure.
Her early days in Australia were far from easy. Separation from her family brought loneliness, and adjusting to a new culture and workplace proved challenging. Yet, Jec met every obstacle with quiet determination.
In 2015, she independently applied for Permanent Residency (PR)—and was granted residency that same year. She settled in the state that had sponsored her, and it was there that she truly began to feel at home.
Soon after moving to Western Australia, Jec joined a boutique migration firm. There, she discovered her passion for immigration work and her talent for helping others navigate the complex visa process. She later transitioned into a Human Resources role at a global energy and mining company, expanding her knowledge of compliance, corporate operations, and sponsorship frameworks.
Determined to deepen her expertise, Jec pursued studies in Law, earning repeated recognition on the Dean’s Merit List. To solidify her standing as a migration professional, she sat the Migration Agents Capstone Assessment—and passed with flying colours on her first attempt.
Jec’s combined background in HR and Migration Consulting uniquely positions her to assist both employer sponsors and skilled candidates. As a migrant herself, she intimately understands the emotional and practical challenges faced by newcomers—offering not only expert advice but genuine empathy.
Her mission is to provide authentic, ethical, and accessible immigration services to aspiring migrants and vulnerable individuals. She is committed to keeping fees fair, making quality migration support attainable for those seeking security and opportunity in Australia. For those most in need, she also provides pro bono services.
